PaceText Reader
Last updated: May 27, 2026. This policy describes how PaceText Reader handles content and privacy in the app.
Overview
PaceText Reader is a local-first speed-reading and focused-reading app. The app is designed for content you import, scan, paste, or share into the app.
Data Collection
PaceText Reader does not collect, sell, or share personal data. The app does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
Imported Content
Documents, pasted text, screenshots, OCR text, and reading preferences are stored locally on your device. PaceText Reader does not distribute copyrighted books. You are responsible for importing content you own or may legally read.
Camera and Photos
PaceText Reader uses camera and photo access only when you choose to scan printed text or import an image for OCR. OCR processing happens on device.
Web Links
When you add or share a public web link, PaceText Reader connects to that website to fetch readable article text. The app does not use those links for tracking.
Share Extension
The PaceText Reader share extension temporarily stores shared text, links, images, or files in the app group container so the main app can import them.
Public-Domain Starter Texts
Starter texts are public-domain excerpts for demo reading. Source credits do not imply endorsement or partnership.
